The relationship between mediation and facilitation is a recurring theme throughout the conversation.
Contents:
Conflicts do – not always want to be resolved immediately by the conflicting parties, and certainly not always – but first of all want to be moderated. The aim is to find a way of dealing with conflicts in groups, between individuals in groups or even just between individuals that allows time for thought, understanding and reflection and helps to clarify the muddled or even just confusing situation.
On the basis of published conflict resolution concepts and interviews with numerous practitioners, Alexander Redlich and his team have developed a moderation model based on conflict mediation experience that places the journey metaphor at the centre:
Conflict moderation is like a guided tour through difficult terrain in which the travelling group is threatened by certain dangers that only the moderator, who is familiar with the conflict, knows and can overcome.
