Contents

Organisational mediation requires more extensive clarification work than traditional mediation between fully responsible conflict parties.

Because in organisations, role holders argue on behalf of and in the area of responsibility of the organisation.

This must be reflected in the conflict resolution work of mediation.

Frequently expressed resistance and objections to the involvement of the client person representing the organisation:

  • "The boss thinks the dispute is a kindergarten and has no desire/time to deal with such things. The people involved are informed and willing to cooperate."
  • "The boss discussed everything with me and deliberately delegated the preliminary clarification to me so that I could clarify everything necessary with you."
  • "The boss is very far away from what is happening and, in his own estimation, can't say much about it. However, he fully supports the procedure (e.g. in the form of mediation)."
  • "The boss doesn't want to hang it up so high. He wants to and should deliberately stay out of it, also so that colleagues can express themselves more freely and openly."
