Mediation promotes communication and co-operation among and with each other at and across all hierarchical levels and professions. Mediation is a necessary building block for optimising cooperation between doctors, nursing staff, patients, relatives, teams, families and groups.
This additional qualification is particularly suitable for:

  • Professionals in the healthcare sectorwho want to learn how to deal professionally with conflicts and
  • Mediators, who are building up their practice in the healthcare sector

The scope of the seminar includes 15 hours.

In healthcare institutions, multi-professional teams encounter emotionally stressed people. There is a great deal of pressure to take responsibility, and the interaction between nursing and medicine is often difficult. Hierarchical management styles are still common. These and other system-related particularities pose special challenges for mediation in the healthcare sector. How, where and when mediation can be carried out in the healthcare sector are our core topics on this day:

  • Mediation in hospitals, doctors' surgeries, health insurance companies, institutions and facilities...
  • Typical topics of mediation in the healthcare sector
  • Proven concepts and process designs
  • Tools and method mix, incl.

Non-violent communication and pictogram technique

  • Possible access routes: Potential counselling, BEM, health management...
  • Limit range, overload indicator
The corresponding system is strongly influenced by illness and restrictions. Hardly anything remains as it was: this leads to conflictual situations in the private or professional context. Mediation support is rarely offered, but is described as helpful and useful by those affected, relatives, colleagues and superiors

  • Disease definitions and disease concepts
  • Systemic changes: Role change, distribution of tasks, meaning and ambiguity; the conflictual nature of illness
  • Needs work: Participants develop new needs that cause (unexpected) contradictions.
  • The special role of relatives
  • Dealing with existential threats, with mental illness... The problem of openness to results and being informed
  • Salutogenesis and mediation
  • Self-protection: dealing with stressful topics
  • Borderline issues: ethical questions, mediation in hospices
