And yet this inner attitude is visible in behaviour, can be checked and is used for self-discipline and attempts to discipline others. What is this all about &#8211; and why is the inner attitude often emphasised instead of &#8222;simply&#8220; training and refining behaviour? Is it to do with the fear that counselling would then run the risk of degenerating into a mere technique, a simple craft?
